Erik McCoy/Cesar Ruiz – Center/Right Guard

The New Orleans Saints have three backup offensive linemen that are unrestricted free agents. Long-time backup Nick Easton, Will Clapp, and Cameron Tom are all, most likely, not coming back to the “Big Easy” next season.

Because of that, it leaves center Erik McCoy and second-year guard, Cesar Ruiz, without a backup. Armstead, Peat, and Ramczyk all have one back-up per player and that does it for the Saints offensive line depth, which as you can tell is extremely weak.

The Saints have drafted a lineman in a decent amount of previous first-round draft picks. Is it possible that they use it again here? Probably not, but that does not change the fact that the Saints need to bolster the depth on the line.

Just like we listed above, there are players on the market who would take veteran’s minimum salaries to come and be a part of New Orleans. The Saints are going to have to pursue them and figure out some type of solution though.

It is especially important here since we all know the Saints offensive line’s track record of health.
