The New Orleans Saints are clearing cap space, and they need to make enough room to ensure they can re-sign these three free agents.

It’s been a strange offseason for the New Orleans Saints. Players that the thought were guaranteed to make a return like Janoris Jenkins have been released, and then others like Latavius Murray are still on the roster.

The team has to make the necessary cap room to bring back some highly-touted free agents. While Trey Hendrickson is likely gone, the Saints have several other free agents that they’ll want to retain.

So far this offseason, the Saints have released Jenkins, Kwon Alexander, Jared Cook, Emmanuel Sanders, and others. They are going to need to bring in additional talent, and their three compensatory picks will help do just that.

However, the Saints haven’t drafted a quarterback in the NFL Draft since 2015, and it doesn’t seem likely that they do that in 2021 despite having Taysom Hill and the expected-to-retire Drew Brees under contract.

That said, let’s dive into three of their own that the Saints are clearly cap space to retain.
