He wants another Super Bowl trophy.

Over the course of the last two seasons, the Saints have entered the season with one of the top five chances at winning the Super Bowl. Both times, they left the playoffs in the Wild Card or Divisional round of the playoffs.

Brees won his first Super Bowl just three years after coming to New Orleans in 2006. In 2009, they defeated the Indianapolis Colts for the franchise’s first Super Bowl win in its history. Unfortunately, they haven’t been back since.

I could see Drew Brees not retiring to give it one more year to try and get back to the big stage. With Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, their offensive line, and the other starters, the black and gold still have a Super Bowl-caliber team.

If Drew Brees were to come back for this next season, he would have to improve his arm strength and deep ball accuracy. If both of those can be true, the Saints might actually have a shot in Brees’ last season as a Saint.
