Here is the first and only three-team trade that makes sense.
The Seahawks would get an absolute load in draft capital. Four first-round picks are more than they’re chasing, and it feels like if this comes their way and Russell Wilson is actually on the block then it would easily be accepted.
Seattle does it for the draft capital. Jacksonville trades a pick because they believe in their short-term future. That pick becomes far less valuable if Urban Meyer and Trevor Lawrence can instantly make them a playoff-caliber team. Marshon Lattimore, who played for Meyer at Ohio State, helps that case.
For New Orleans, it’s the same reason as before. This is basically the first trade for the Saints, just they’d still have to find a way to clear some cap room to just trade away Lattimore and bring in Wilson.
It feels like a win for all parties.
