Number One: C.J. Gardner-Johnson

Over the last two seasons, defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson has proven to be one of the NFL’s best smack talkers while also a player that provides consistency for the Saints within the secondary.

Gardner-Johnson is a player that brings energy to the Saints’ defensive backfield with his aggressive play style and a knack for being around the ball.

During the 2020 season, Gardner-Johnson hauled in 76 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 interception while playing as Nickel corner. Garder-Johnson also has 21 pass deflections since 2019 and has shown steady progress over his time with the Saints.

Gardner-Johnson has shown the ability to roam the field and create havoc for opposing offenses which will draw the attention of coach Kris Richard. Expect coach Kris Richard to aid Gardner-Johnson in becoming one of the best players on the Saints roster in 2021.
