Owusu-Koramoah is prospect that offers precisely what Saints need

As the New Orleans Saints will expect many departures in free agency, they’ll be able to potentially replace a star with this underrated prospect.

With the NFL Draft quickly approaching, the New Orleans Saints will need to address concerns that plagued the team during their 2020 campaign. Luckily, there may be a prospect that can create the impact the Saints are hoping for.

During the 2020 regular season, New Orleans defense caused chaos for opposing offenses with their ability to pursue the quarterback and defend the run.

Unfortunately, outside of All-Pro linebacker Demario Davis, the Saints have struggled with consistency at the linebacker position. In a draft class loaded with talent at linebacker, the Saints will need to select a player that can quickly contribute to this rising Saints defense.

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, a senior out of Notre Dame, offers precisely what New Orleans needs at the linebacker position. Owusu-Koramoah showed elite ability as a linebacker using a combination of speed, strength, and athleticism to wreak havoc for opposing offenses each week.

In just two years, Koramoah became one of the nation’s best players at his position and may be an essential piece in aiding the Saints in their quest for a Superbowl.

In his final year with the “Fighting Irish”, Koramoah led one of the nation’s best defenses with 62 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss as well as 3 forced fumbles. Koramoah showed electrifying playmaking ability during his two years at Notre Dame ending his career with 142 total tackles.

Although free agency will likely see the exit of many key contributors on the defensive side of the ball, Koramoah’s ability to cover the entire field and disrupt offenses will catch the attention of many NFL teams, specifically the Saints coaching staff.

The new Orleans defense led by All-Pro talents Cameron Jordan and Marshon Lattimore may have their hands full with the departure of many familiar faces, but acquiring elite talent is key for this unit to remain one of the NFC’s best, if not one of the best in the entire NFL.
