Adam Trautman

The 6-foot-5 Adam Trautman was selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Trautman being involved more has more to do with veteran tight end Jared Cook likely not returning and less to do with Winston being in charge, but the sheer volume of passing that Winston will likely do should help.

Trautman had more than two receptions in just two games. His rookie season, he didn’t see much activity. The Saints need to find a way to use the former Dayton stand out more, and Winston will likely be able to spread the love to the tight end in 2021.

OJ Howard and Cameron Brate both had over 30 receptions for Winston in 2019, so he does use his tight ends. The schemes that Sean Payton has drawn up in the past also utilize a tight end well, so Trautman could be in store for a big uptick in targets.

Trautman, Sanders and Harris should all look to be more involved in the Saints’ offense with Winston potentially taking over in 2021.
