Number Two: Adam Trautman

During the Payton-Brees era, the most successful campaigns involved having solid tight end play throughout the season.

However, over the past few seasons, the tight end position has seen a significant decline in production. In order for the Saints to regain offensive dominance in the NFL, they need to focus on tight end play as an essential component.

At 6-foot-5, 250 lbs, Adam Trautman is a player that may become an integral part of the Saints passing offense. Trautman hauling in 15 receptions on 16 targets in 2020 displayed the consistency the Saints have been searching for in the tight end position.

Trautman, averaging 11.1 yards per catch, showed the ability to stretch the field and create mismatches due to his size and speed.

The combination of Payton’s brilliance and Trautman’s ascending skill could lead to a promising 2021 season.
