Deshaun Watson, Houston Texans
The hottest question mark right now heading into the offseason is the disgruntled Houston Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson. After the Texans traded away DeAndre Hopkins for an aging David Johnson, Watson was confused about what was happening.
Throughout this season, the Texans surrounded Watson with zero weapons and didn’t give him an opportunity to win. A star in his prime only gets so many years in his prime to win. Watson wants a win-now team, that’s why he’ll likely demand a trade.
The Saints offer Watson that win-now scenario. He would elevate the team to the next level for a very long time. The question is, “Does New Orleans have enough cap space to make a trade for Deshaun Watson worth the capital?”
If the front office decides that they do, they should make a huge push for this superstar. Because of the Stafford/Goff trade, a trade for Watson would likely have to include at least three first-round draft picks among other capital.
