The new year will hopefully provide some positive excitement for the New Orleans Saints, but for these players, it may end their time in the Big Easy.

The New Orleans Saints will ring in the new year with the rest of the United States later tonight. With that will come new opportunities for a team poised to make a serious Super Bowl run this postseason.

The Saints are that good, and with Alvin Kamara playing potentially the best football of his career, they should be able to dominate on both sides of the ball. Getting by the Packers and Chiefs will be tough though.

After the postseason will come major decisions by Mickey Loomis and the Saints front office.

The team will likely be priced out of a couple of their free agents. Players like Marcus Williams may have to be let go. Defensive end Trey Hendrickson may also be a name that the team just isn’t able to keep.

With Drew Brees on the brink of retirement, this offseason will shape the Saints’ short-term and long-term future. That said, let’s dive into five players that may need to find a new home this coming offseason.
