Number One: Cheap Price Tag

Obviously, when you trade for a player, especially a productive one like Golden Tate, there’s usually a pretty pricy return for their services. In this case, however, acquiring Tate from the underwhelming New York Giants may not cost much at all.

Golden Tate is still a productive wide receiver, but he’s certainly past his prime.

Tate is still going to be good for around 70 receptions, but he’s not worth as much as he was a few years back. Tate would likely only cost the Saints two late-round draft picks for his services which would be a steal for New Orleans.

The Saints should really look into adding Golden Tate to the roster for a plethora of reasons, but the main one is his cheap price tag.
