There’s no denying a 2-2 start isn’t great for this Saints team, but they’ve still seen a few players step up and eagerly fill in much-needed holes.

The New Orleans Saints have been hit by the injury bug quite a bit so far in the early portion of the season. That means there has had to be some players step up and help the Saints start the season 2-2.

Injuries to star players are never a fun thing to see, but seeing an underrated player breakout and mold into a dependable backup or role player always is. The Saints have had several players thrust into action earlier than likely expected.

While injuries have been happening to just about every NFL team since the commencement of the league, the Saints have been hit extra hard this season, missing six starters in their fourth game of the season.

They’ve been without Michael Thomas several games and have yet to see Marcus Davenport even take the field. The Saints have proven just how good their depth is and it should make other teams fear the potential the Saints have this season.
