The New Orleans Saints cut over ten players to trim their roster down to 53 on Saturday, and a few of them may be regrettable decisions.

There’s no denying Saturday was difficult for the New Orleans Saints’ management.

They trimmed their roster down to 53, cutting several young players they seemed to be high on. Then on Sunday, they then filled out their practice squad with many of the players they had just let go.

The Saints, despite losing out on the race for Jadeveon Clowney, will have one of the best teams in the NFC. They’ll be the easy favorite in the NFC South, a division that added future first-ballot Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.

With such an elite roster, cracking the Saints 53 top players is no easy task. At most positions, the Saints have top-tier talent. Boasting 11 Pro Bowlers from a season ago, the Saints have thankfully retained most of their best players.

However, in doing so, the Saints limited themselves financially.

While they’ve always found a way to get things done, the Saints may have hampered themselves for the future this offseason. But, the roster for the 2020 season has been set, and it’s going to be one of the best in the NFL.
