Number Five: Keith Washington

Keith Washington was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent this offseason and is transitioning well to the NFL level.

Washington, a 6-foot-1 cornerback from West Virginia, has an uphill battle to make the final 5- man roster but he seems like he has what it takes to crack the code.

Washington was a dominant playmaker for the West Virginia Mountaineers in college and many analysts were surprised when he went undrafted.

In two seasons as a starter at West Virginia, Washington put on a show as he recorded 63 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, 18 passes defended, five interceptions, and one defensive touchdown.

Washington has great size and speed for his height and the Saints could really use a taller cornerback to match up with lengthy receivers. I think Washington will beat out Patrick Robinson for the final cornerback spot and have a solid rookie season.
