Alex Anzalone

Injured for the bulk of last season, Alex Anzalone is one of the few low points of the 2017 NFL Drat. One headlined by Marshon Lattimore, Ryan Ramczyk, Alvin Kamara, and Marcus Williams, Anzalone has been an afterthought as he’s struggled to stay on the field.

With Zack Baun in the linebacker rotation and looking to be a positionless force, Anzalone’s starting job could be up in the air, or he could be primed for a breakout season. We’ve seen how hard Anzalone can hit and how well he can cover as an outside linebacker.

But, we haven’t seen him play consistent snaps yet. The 6-foot-3 OLB played in all 16 games in 2018, starting seven. It was the best season of his career, notching 59 tackles and two sacks.

Along with an interception and six quarterback hits, Anzalone, for a player that was in for under half the defensive snaps, made a solid impact on a team that continued its reign over the NFC South.

Anzalone, as he’s set to break out as a key linebacker for this team, should be a player that garners a bit more attention in the near future.
