Number Five: Malcom Brown

Malcom Brown was one of the best free-agent signings the New Orleans Saints made in 2019 because his impact was felt in more ways than one on the defensive side of the ball. Brown, a 320-pound defensive tackle with sneaky speed, put up career numbers in his first season in the black and gold.

Brown, a former first-round pick by the New England Patriots back in 2015, has made his money by stopping the run and bringing great pressure as a defensive tackle.

Last season with the Saints Brown put up excellent stats and was a top defensive tackle for the team. Brown recorded 34 tackles, six tackles for a loss, five quarterback hits, two sacks, one fumble recovery, and one pass defended while starting all 16 games for the Saints.

Brown is certainly a lock to make the final 53-man roster and will likely start at defensive tackle for the Saints again in 2020.

That said, while not all five are guaranteed a spot, it’d be shocking if at least four of the five didn’t make the final cut.
