Michael Thomas

Michael Thomas was irreplaceable to the Saints last season. He was arguably the only receiver on the roster worth even close to his pay. Tre’Quan Smith, Keith Kirkwood, and all the other receivers barely played, and when they did, it wasn’t well.

You know it is bad when you only have one receiver on the top four targets for your quarterback. Well, that’s what it was like last season. This year, they have added a quality veteran receiver in Emmanuel Sanders that will help take the pressure off of Thomas.

I am not going to say that Thomas will be better than he was last year. He played so well in 2019 that he set multiple Saints’ records and even set a long-time NFL receiving record with 144 receptions in a single season.

Even though he won’t put up the same numbers he did last year, Thomas is still projected to be the best receiver in the NFL. It is hard for the Saint to get better than the best, and that is why Thomas will be irreplaceable to the Saints next year too.
