Predicting the three running backs New Orleans Saints will keep on 53-man roster

Number Three: Ty Montgomery

Ty Montgomery will be in direct competition with Dwayne Washington and Tony Jones Jr. for this final running back spot, but I’m going to give Montgomery the nod to crack the roster.

Montgomery has played with several top quarterbacks including Aaron Rodgers, Lamar Jackson, and now Drew Brees, and it will be exciting to see what he brings to the Saints already dynamic offense.

Montgomery is getting the nod due to his ability to play pretty much anywhere on the field. Montgomery has proven he can play running back, wide receiver, and return specialist at the NFL level. He’s one of the more dynamic players on the Saints’ roster.

He’ll have creative play-caller Sean Payton giving him a shot to make plays, so the sky is really the limit for Montgomery in 2020. Montgomery’s versatility will give him an elite edge over Dwayne Washington and Tony Jones Jr. when it comes down to cracking the final roster.
