10 Saints that could be cut before the team reports to camp

Number Two: Tommylee Lewis
Tommylee Lewis is a wide receiver on the Saints who will have more than an uphill battle to make the teams’ final 53-man roster.
After turning down an XFL opportunity with the Dallas Renegades to sign a futures/reserve contract with the Saints, it became evident that there are literally no guarantees in his contract at all.
The Saints could cut Lewis without taking any sort of cap hit for it, making him liable for that scenario to occur. The Saints obviously aren’t going to release him based solely on the fact that they can, but he’s also struggled mightily in his NFL career.
Lewis, standing at just 5-foot-7, 168 pounds, has struggled to take advantage of his limited reps on the field. In his career, all three seasons with the Saints, Lewis has mustered up just 20 receptions, 252 receiving yards, 12 first downs, and two receiving touchdowns.
His case for staying on the team was his above-average kick and punt return ability, but Deonte Harris made the Pro Bowl in that area last season. Barring anything unforeseen, Lewis is likely to be cut sooner rather than later.
