Number Two: Dalton Hilliard

Dalton Hilliard was the first superstar running back for the New Orleans Saints in franchise history and just barely comes in at number two on the all-time LSU list. Hilliard, a Patterson Louisiana native, dominated with the Saints in his career.

Hilliard spent his entire NFL career with the New Orleans Saints, and he didn’t let his opportunities go to waste.

The second-round pick by the Saints in 1986 put together what ended up to be a Hall of Fame career as he was selected into the Saints Hall of Fame and Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame.

Hilliard recorded 1,126 rush attempts, 4,164 rushing yards, 39 rushing touchdowns, 249 receptions, 2,233 receiving yards, and 14 receiving touchdowns.

Hilliard comes in as the second-best player from LSU to be drafted by New Orleans and his Pro Bowl selection in 1989 made the decision even harder.
