Number Two: Danny Wuerffel

Danny Wuerffel was a fourth-round pick by the New Orleans Saints in 1997 after a historic career at the University of Florida. Wuerffel, despite being a relatively high pick, only lasted two seasons with the black and gold before being released at the conclusion of the 1998 season.

Wuerffel had a great career at Florida, one that was good enough to eventually land him in the College Football Hall of Fame. Wuerffel won a Heisman trophy, the Maxwell Award, and was a four-time SEC Champion.

Somehow, his unbelievable career in college just did not translate to the next level and left him jobless after a few seasons in the NFL.

Wuerffel’s stats were awful during his time in New Orleans. Wuerffel started just six games in New Orleans where he completed just 48.8 percent of his passes for 1,404 yards and a touchdown to interception ratio of nine:16.
