The New Orleans Saints are widely regarded as the best team in the NFC, but their success may depend on how some of their key players perform in 2020.

The Saints have totaled more wins in the previous three seasons (37) than any other team in the NFL. That’s impressive and something that isn’t oftentimes talked about when referencing the three-time defending NFC South champs.

They have a special sauce in their gumbo down in the Big Easy and it shows with how organized and talented the Saints have been in recent years. This team, behind sound leadership, has continued to break records.

A large part of that contribution is from players who were considered to be “nobody’s” before stepping up and playing a large role within the organization. Many of the Saint’s top-tier players weren’t necessarily drafted within the first round of the draft.

However, many are also expected to lead this franchise for the foreseeable future as Drew Brees will one day retire. That said, let’s take a look at five Saints players who need to step up in 2020 in order to continue their string of success.
