Number Five: Dalton Hilliard

Dalton Hilliard spent eight seasons as the running back for the New Orleans Saints from 1986 to 1993 and was the first star running back the team ever had. Hilliard, a second-round pick from the local LSU, spent his entire career in the black and gold.

The former Pro Bowler logged some very impressive stats with the Saints during his tenure. Hilliard logged 1,126 rush attempts, 4,164 rushing yards, a 3.7 yard per rush average, and 39 rushing touchdowns in his career.

Hilliard also logged 249 receptions, 2,233 receiving yards, and 14 receiving touchdowns.

Hilliard held many rushing records in the Big Easy before Mark Ingram and Deuce McAllister came along and wiped them away, but he certainly set the bar high for the future of the New Orleans Saints backfield for years to come.
