Number One: Deuce McAllister

Deuce McAllister is the best running back in New Orleans Saints history and proved it throughout his entire career. McAllister, who spent eight seasons in the NFL all with the Saints, is still the team’s all-time leader in rushing yards and has held numerous other records for the Saints as well.

McAllister was a first-round pick by the New Orleans Saints in 2001 and filled the shoes left by former running back Ricky Williams following his trade to Miami.

McAllister made Williams a mistake of the past as he rattled off three consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons in his first three years with the team, becoming the first Saints player to ever do that.

McAllister also holds the Saints record for most 100-yard games with 22, where the Saints went 14-8 in those games. He also holds a team record with nine consecutive 100-yard contests in 2003, subsequently the same year he attended his second and final Pro Bowl.

McAllister’s incredible numbers have yet to be touched, which makes him the best running back to touch the Superdome turf as a member of the Saints.
