Cesar Ruiz

Last year, Saints’ guards Larry Warford and Andrus Peat were both Pro Bowl alternates. They both had the stats and play to be selections, but they just barely missed the backup spots. Peat might have a chance next year, but Warford is no longer on the team.

He has been replaced with the Saints’ first-round selection Cesar Ruiz, a former center/guard from the University of Michigan. There has to be a reason that Sean Payton and company stretched up to select Ruiz in the first round.

He has been rumored to be a better and younger Larry Warford and that was made evident when the Saints made the move to release Warford, therefore, making Ruiz an automatic starter. Being a guard on the best offensive line has its perks, he will be a great candidate for a rookie Pro Bowl.

These three teammates are not the players you would look at the New Orleans Saints and think they will be Pro Bowlers. However, they have what it takes to be the next wave of Saints to be in the Pro Bowl.
