Do the Saints have enough quality cornerback depth?

Deatrick Nichols

Nichols is a very interesting player the Saints signed this offseason from the XFL.

He led the league with three interceptions and played for the undefeated Houston Roughnecks before play stopped due to COVID-19. Nichols was becoming a star of his own for the league that now has a handful of players seeing another shot at the prime time.

Nichols actually signed with the Arizona Cardinals in 2018 as an undrafted free agent and stuck with the team for a while before being released after six weeks.

Not sticking around in the league, Nichols knew he could play and showed off enough at the XFL level to stick some NFL team’s interest.

With his special teams’ ability and nose for the ball, Nichols has a shot at making the Saints final roster, but he’s still unproven and will have to show the coaching staff that he belongs. It will be interesting to see how things unfold for the former XFL star.
