Do the Saints have enough quality cornerback depth?

Justin Hardee

Hardee re-signed with the Saints this offseason and is primarily a core special teamer that rarely comes into play defense.

Last season, Hardee played in all 16 games, registering just 11 tackles. He is a very good special teams player and should make the team, but I doubt we will see him taking many snaps on defense next season.

In order for Hardee to even compete for snaps at cornerback, he will have to have a fantastic training camp. At 26 years old, Hardee can still possibly develop into a decent backup cornerback, but for now, that’s not where his value will lie.

Though unlikely at this point, we’ll find out how much he has progressed this summer one way or another. Hardee is still young which helps his cause, but he’ll have to produce this season or risk not finding another contract in the Big Easy.
