The New Orleans Saints’ draft class taking the field.

The New Orleans Saints always have quality drafts. One of the best parts of the front office is their scouting staff. They never fail to bring in at least one talented prospect if not an entire draft full of them each and every year.

Cesar Ruiz was the Saints’ first-round draft pick. He was originally going to have to vie for a starting spot with Larry Warford, but the Saints have since released him. Now Ruiz is tasked with protecting one of the best quarterbacks to ever play football, every game.

Zach Baun will have a vital role in the depth of the linebacking core and the defensive end. If you look at the Saints’ depth chart, he is listed as the primary backup for both those positions. If his number is called, he will have huge shoes to fill in the starting role.

Lastly, Adam Trautman was another third-round pick. This tight end will have the No. 2 role on the team. While Jared Cook will continue to be the primary target, secondary tight ends play a vital role as well.

It will be great to see this group on the field for the first time together in June, if Payton opts to bring them together. More so it will be amazing to see them work together and help the Saints come to win the one goal that they each have in common — a championship.
