Terron Armstead (T)

The New Orleans Saints took a gamble in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft and went with a versatile G/C candidate from the University of Michigan, Cesar Ruiz. Little did we know, a month later, they would cut Larry Warford.

Virtually, that leaves the Saints thin on the offensive line. In general, they have one of the best starting offensive lines in the game, but there is little backup behind the front line. In this instance, I picked Terron Armstead.

One, because Armstead has been injured before. Even though he only missed one game last season, the two before that, Armstead only started 10 games in each of those making his injury history a concern.

Two, the guard/center position has strong backup candidates in Nick Easton and Patrick Omameh — two players who have seen time on the line with the Saints. The team signed James Hurst from Baltimore to be the backup to Armstead, but he doesn’t have any time on the line with the Saints.
