Saints: 3 reasons why Ty Montgomery is a great addition

Number Two: He’s a Veteran
The common theme of the 2020 New Orleans Saints offseason has been acquiring veteran talent to team up with the young pieces the organization already has in place. Montgomery, a 2015 third-round pick, fills that role very well.
Ty Montgomery has played in 58 career games in the NFL and has also played for a few different quarterbacks including Aaron Rodgers, Sam Darnold, and 2019 NFL MVP Lamar Jackson.
Montgomery should have no problem creating almost instant chemistry with Drew Brees who is already known on helping make wide receivers look good.
Ty Montgomery and his 71.4 career reception percentage should give Drew Brees the reliable depth at the wide receiver position he has been longing for and the veteran leadership of Montgomery should bring out the competitiveness in the lower-class wide receivers on the depth chart.
