3 New Orleans Saints primed for a breakout season in 2020

No. 2 Chauncey Gardner-Johnson
Gardner-Johnson is raw. He’s emotional. He seems all at once angry and euphoric. Best of all, he likes to hit.
He’s exactly what this franchise has always needed.
Not since Mark Ingram has the team seen an passionate cannonball like CGJ, and to be frank, CGJ makes Mark Ingram look mild-mannered.
His stats during his rookie campaign-an interception and a forced fumble-aren’t mind-blowing, but they read more as an explosive rookie getting calibrated to the tempo of the game.
His ability to blitz fits perfectly with Dennis Allen’s fantasy of having a rogue defensive back to shoot at unexpected cornerbacks. It’s like someone made the kid in a computer as a gift to Sean Payton.
CGJ will be entering his second year with all the confidence in the world, and deservedly so. Watch for the Florida product to capitalize on his momentum from last season and pad his stats further.
