New Orleans Saints: 3 draft day trades involving Taysom Hill

Miami Dolphins at No. 5

Moving up to No. 5 would give the New Orleans Saints a chance to take a franchise quarterback to take over at the end of the season. At this selection, Tua Tagovailoa should be available. I can’t see a team before No. 5 taking him.

If that is the case then this trad would make sense. The Dolphins need a starting quarterback, but they could use the more picks in the draft, and they are no strangers to trading their draft picks. In fact, they have a ton in this draft.

Taysom Hill would serve purposes for both teams here. Hill would save the Saints having to give up another first-round pick. Meanwhile, the Dolphins get a starting quarterback and another pick in the exchange.

Drew Brees has one year left in his football playing career. Tua Tagovailoa could change how much the Saints feel the leaving of Brees, and he could help bridge the generation gap from older to newer quarterbacks.
