Round Four: #130 Overall

In the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, I have the New Orleans Saints selecting Florida International quarterback James Morgan. Morgan has been linked with the Saints since the Combine where he worked out with the team.

James Morgan is a pro-style quarterback who had a successful college career including being FIU’s record holder in pass efficiency, touchdown passes in a season, and most passing yards in a bowl game.

Morgan ran a 4.89 forty yard dash, 4.64 twenty yard shuttle, and a 7.51 three-cone drill. Morgan also leaped 29 inches in the vertical jump. He also leaped 112 inches in the broad jump.

Morgan finished his college career completing over 57 percent of his passes for 8,654 yards and a touchdown to interception ratio of 65 touchdowns to 35 interceptions.

The Saints need another quarterback as they only have two on the roster currently with one set to retire in the next few seasons..

The Saints have been vocal about making Taysom Hill the successor to Drew Brees but James Morgan could give him a run for his money. The Saints need to select a quarterback later in the draft and none may be better than FIU’s James Morgan.
