3 New Orleans Saints players on the hot seat in 2020

DE, Marcus Davenport
Marcus Davenport is the last name on our “hot seat” list. The sophomore defensive end started all 13 games that he played in last season for the New Orleans Saints, but his numbers didn’t reflect 13 started games on the line.
Playing the opposite of Cameron Jordan definitely helps open some opportunities up, but Davenport needs to seize those opportunities more. Last season, he only totaled 31 tackles and five of them were for a loss.
He did grab 6.0 sacks and 16 hits on the quarterback; however, to be the defensive end that the Saints know he can be, Davenport needs to raise those numbers even more. Especially coming up on his contract year, it is going to make it more important.

These players all have something to prove in the upcoming season to themselves, their teammates and coaches, and the football world. To be a Saint means to be above average. These players need to rise to that call.
