Los Angeles Chargers

There is no secret that with a healthy Melvin Gordon, that the Chargers had the best running back duo in the entire NFL. However, Gordon was one of those running backs who chose to hold out in a contract year for a team that wasn’t going to pay him.

Gordon sat for the first half of the season allowing Austin Ekeler to steal the show in Los Angeles. Ekeler is the perfect player out of the backfield to catch balls, but he is not your typical three-down workhorse running back.

That’s where the need for Alvin Kamara would come in. The Chargers are already set on using their first-round pick on a quarterback, most analysts say it will be Justin Herbert from Oregon. Therefore, they wouldn’t miss their second-round pick.

However, that is borderline compensation for the star that Kamara is so they would throw in Justin Jackson too who could be a three-down back in New Orleans. In this situation, the Chargers get their franchise running back and the Saints get a high-quality but cheap back as well.
