Round Six: #203 Overall

At this point, the Saints have already acquired the talent they needed and can just grab the best player available. The best player still available at this point in the draft is Florida wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland.

Cleveland is a really good under-the-radar guy. Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 205 pounds, the wideout was forced to the sidelines for most of his career due to Florida’s depth at the wide receiver position.

Cleveland took advantage of his playing time though accumulating 79 receptions, 1,271 yards, 16.1 yards per catch, and eight receiving touchdowns. He also had ten kick returns for 242 yards and racked up five special teams tackles.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, Cleveland posted a 4.46 40-yard dash, had 13 bench press reps, had a 39.5-inch vertical jump, and had a 126-inch broad jump.

Tyrie Cleveland has the potential to be a star in the NFL but flew under the radar due to depth on his college squad. Adding Cleveland to a young Saints offense would increase the team’s depth at a position of need.
