New Orleans Saints seven-round 2020 NFL Mock Draft 1.0

Round Three: #88 Overall
The New Orleans Saints do not have a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft so we will fast forward to the third round where I have them selecting Notre Dame wide receiver Chase Claypool.

Claypool is a 6-foot-4, 238-pound wide receiver who is projected by the NFL to be a starter within his first two seasons in the NFL. Claypool is an absolute monster, having excellent speed to go with his size.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, Claypool ran a 4.42 40-yard dash, knocked out 19 bench press reps, had a 40.5-inch vertical jump, and had a 126-inch broad jump. After the addition of Emmanuel Sanders, wide receiver does not have to be a major priority for the New Orleans Saints which is why I have them waiting until the third round to draft one.
In his four-year college career, Claypool logged 150 receptions, 2,159 yards, a 14.4 yard per reception average, and 19 receiving touchdowns. Claypool was also asked to work out as a tight end at the NFL Combine and did so willingly.
Adding Chase Claypool to the Saints offense would provide a major upgrade at the slot position, providing a mismatch for undersized defensive backs. Chase Claypool is a multiple-position athlete who would thrive in Sean Payton’s versatile offense.
