Number Three: Mitch Berger

Mitch Berger was the punter for the New Orleans Saints from 2003 through 2005.

Berger played every game of all three seasons with the Saints proving how reliable and consistent he was. In those three seasons, Berger had 227 punts for 9,914 yards an average of 43.7 yards per punt.

His longest punt was 69 yards in a Saints uniform.

Over the course of his time with the Saints, Berger had only one punt blocked. In 2004, Berger was named an All-Pro with the New Orleans Saints and he was also selected to his first and only Pro Bowl the same season.

Berger provided the Saints with excellent and consistent punting during his tenure in New Orleans which is why he ranks as the third-best player in franchise history to wear the number 17.
