Eli Apple

Current contract: $3.788 million

Projected free agency contract: $4.25 million

Compensatory Draft pick: 6th round pick

Current Replacement: Janoris Jenkins

Eli Apple was one of the biggest disappointments of the season for the New Orleans Saints especially in the secondary. His coverage was sporadic, his routes were behind, and he just looked washed up against receivers.

Apple ended the season with an injury before not even playing in the playoffs. However, before that injury, he was in a deep dive down the table in terms of talented cornerbacks, but he just needs one team to buy into his first half-season potential.

I think that there will be one team out there that needs a cornerback bad enough that will buy into what Apple could potentially do and take that risk. The New Orleans Saints, though, will be content with Janoris Jenkins.
