What is the possibility the New Orleans Saints get the No. 1 seed?

Again, currently, the New Orleans Saints sit behind the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers in the seedings. They regardless will finish at the least with the No. 3 seed. They need a win and either a 49ers or Packers loss in week 17 to move into the No. 2 seed.

To move into the No. 1 seed, the New Orleans Saints need a win first and foremost, but they also need both the 49ers and the Packers to lose in week 17. With both of those happening, the Saints would jump both of those teams to the No. 1 seed.

Both teams are going on the road, that is a plus side. It is a lot easier to lose on the road then it is at home. The 49ers have a tough 50/50 matchup in Seattle. We will need the Detroit Lions to play the game of their lives to beat the Packers.

We saw the Arizona Cardinals beat the 11-3 Seattle Seahawks last week, dropping them to the No. 5 seed. This type of upset is possible and the New Orleans Saints will need it to happen for a chance to leapfrog two teams to the top NFC team.

Probability of ending with the No. 1 seed: 10%

The main strive for the New Orleans Saints should be gaining at least the No. 1 or No. 2 seeds. The complete home-field advantage and the first-round bye would be a huge boost going into the stacked playoffs. It would also give some players coming off of injuries and an extra week of rest.
