New Orleans Saints: 3 studs, 1 dud in close call with Titans

Dud No. 1 – Eli Apple
For the second straight week, Eli Apple is finding himself on the dud list. It just seems like Apple is getting exploited around every turn from every quarterback we face. Whether Garoppolo or Tannehill, Apple didn’t stand a chance in man or zone coverage.
In fact, before Eli Apple left the game on Sunday the Titans were leading 14-3 and had a head of steam. All signs pointed to the Saints losing another game. Once sidelined because of injury, the Saints went on a 35-14 run to end the game.
Against San Francisco a couple of weeks ago, whether Deebo Samuel or Emmanuel Sanders, wide receivers were cooking Eli Apple. It is time that CGJ finds his way into the starting spot at cornerback. This is what the defense needs.
Apple is on the downslope of his career, and while he brings a veteran presence, his mistakes are not worth the leadership. The Saints’ secondary has long been the weakest link on the dynamite New Orleans Saints’ team.
When this transaction gets made, the Saints’ secondary will grow even more.
dark. Next. Predicting the NFC Playoffs
The Saints’ next opponent is the Carolina Panthers in the season finale. A win in this game would almost guarantee a No. 1 or No. 2 seed for the New Orleans Saints, also guaranteeing a first-round bye and home-field advantage.
