Linebacker – Demario Davis

Demario Davis is the New Orleans Saints feel-good love story of the decade. From where Davis has come from and the number of chances he has been given, it is extraordinary to see where he is going and the home he has found with the New Orleans Saints organization.

Davis has been the veteran glue for this Saints’ linebacking core also featuring Kiko Alonso, A.J. Klein, Craig Robertson, and newly acquired Manti Te’o. Davis has 98 tackles on the year with one interception, 11 pass defends, 7 QB hits and three sacks.

He was snubbed from the roster for Arizona Cardinals, Chandler Jones; Chicago Bears, Khalil Mack; and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Shaquil Barrett. The two starters are big-name outside linebackers, but are they having the type of season that Davis is having?

Shaquil Barrett made the roster on the back of 16.5 sacks and six forced fumbles. Khalil Mack has 7.5 sacks with one interception, five forced fumbles, and 13 QB hits. Chandler Jones has 15 sacks with six forced fumbles, three recoveries, and 19 QB hits. However, Davis leads them all in tackles.

The No. 2 ranked New Orleans Saints deserved the players they had voted to the Pro Bowl. However, it is not likely that a team also has three top 10 snubs. Reasoning has been made about why they got left out. Alvin Kamara, Vonn Bell, and Erik McCoy were also left off of the roster.
