New Orleans Saints: 1 historical stud, 2 other studs in Monday Night win

Drew Brees
The wait is finally over. Drew Brees has hit 540 touchdowns. Peyton Manning originally owned the record for most touchdowns in a career with 539, set a couple of years ago when he retired. Brees entered Monday night with 537, needing two touchdowns to tie the record and three to break it.
Late into the second quarter Brees already had two touchdown passes on the night. Driving down with less than a minute left in the half, Brees threw a touchdown to Tre’Quan Smith to break the record. Except, offensive pass interference was called on Smith bringing it back.

The kicked a field goal right before the half. We would have to wait until after the half.
The third quarter started and Brees threw the record-breaking touchdown pass to Josh Hill early in the quarter. He went on to finish with 541 career touchdowns — two ahead of Peyton Manning, three ahead of Tom Brady.
Brees also finished the game with the highest completion percentage in a game since Philip Rivers went 27/28 and had a 96.6% completion percentage. Brees went 29/30 and had a 96.7% completion percentage.
