Cam Newton brings the experience of a veteran quarterback.

Cam Newton is no rookie in this league. In fact, he even has an appearance in a Super Bowl. While he might have lost to the Peyton Manning-led Denver Broncos, Newton still managed a 15-1 regular-season record that year.

Over the course of his career, Newton has made the playoffs four times in eight healthy years.

That is not a bad record for someone in a division with the Saints and someone with a mediocre receiving core most of his career (outside of Steve Smith). Imagine what the likes of Cam Newton could do with Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara.

At full health, Cam Newton is a loaded weapon with his arm and with his legs.

The potential for the rest of Newton’s career if he stays healthy is more than that of Teddy Bridgewater. With Drew Brees’ retirement on the horizon, the Saints need a model playmaker like Newton to make the transition out of the Brees’ era smooth.
