New Orleans Saints: 3 studs, 1 dud in dramatic win against Carolina

Latavius Murray
Latavius Murray once again saw a near equal carry count to Alvin Kamara again this week. Murray carried seven times and Kamara for eleven. However, this is not why Murray is on the stud list. He makes this list by what he did with those seven carries he got the opportunity to get.
Latavius Murray had two of those carries on the opening drive. He ended up taking the second one for a 26-yard scamper into the endzone for the first score of the day for the New Orleans Saints. Below you can see that run that led him into the endzone.

The lone downside to Murray’s day is the fact that he did not catch a ball out of the backfield.
All of that work looks to be solely Alvin Kamara’s for the time being. However, it is good to see Murray getting the workload that last year’s Mark Ingram got. Not only is he getting it, but he is also producing when given the opportunity as well.
Look for the Saints to continue to utilize Murray in almost a 50/50 run split with Kamara going forward. This allows Kamara to catch more out of the backfield, and it also allows him to take a breather every now and then to keep him injury-free for the playoffs.
