The New Orleans Saints beat the Carolina Panthers 34-31 in a close-matched, nail-biting divisional rivalry game.

As the end of Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers came to a close, most New Orleans Saints fans were on the edge of their couch rooting on their black and gold in hopes of another win.

After a missed fourth-down conversion, all hope seemed lost.

The Panthers drove down the field leading to a 28-yard field goal attempt by Slye. Except for he missed it! Hope is alive!

The Saints turned that missed field goal and started marching down the field at a rapid pace. Throw after throw All-Pro quarterback Drew Brees led this Saints team in a 1-minute drill down the field.

With four seconds left, Brees spiked the ball and the Saints were in prime position to take out the division rival Carolina Panthers. It all rested on the shoulders of Will Lutz. Unlike Slye, he would take the opportunity and drive home another win for the now 9-2 New Orleans Saints.

This game came down to the wire. A win is nice, but not always when a heart attack comes with it. Fortunately, the Saints avoid a near loss and remain and candidate for the best team in the NFC.

With today’s game, let’s take a look at three players who remained studs in the Saints win, and one player who could have performed better.
