New Orleans Saints: 3 players pivotal to a Super Bowl run

The New Orleans Saints have a good chance at going to the Super Bowl, but for that to happen, these players will need to perform on the big stage.
In January of 2006, the New Orleans Saints signed head coach Sean Payton — a move that would change the course of the Saints for over a decade to come. A few months later, the Saints traded with the San Diego Chargers to acquire future Hall of Famer Drew Brees.
The beginning of a dynasty had started in New Orleans.
Just three short years later, the New Orleans Saints made it to their first Super Bowl to face off against the Indianapolis Colts in Miami, FL.
The 2009 season was probably the best in the Saints’ organizational history. They started the season 13-0 setting an NFC record for the longest winning streak to open a season in history.
They went on to lose their final three games ending the season at 13-3 (a very attainable goal for the 2019 team just like in 2018).
They beat Brett Favre and the Vikings in the NFC Championship game, clinching their first-ever Super Bowl appearance in history. 2009 marked a turning point for not only the New Orleans Saints organization but the entire city of New Orleans as well.
Enough reliving the glory days of the 2009 Super Bowl-winning team, here are three players that will be crucial to the Saints making that same run a decade later.
