Tre’Quan Smith

Targets have been few and far between for the second-year player out of Central Florida.

While he has dealt with various injuries this year, Smith came fully back to action in week 10 out of the bye against the Falcons. Smith saw two targets and one reception for thirteen yards. In week 11 against Tampa Bay, Smith failed to pull in his lone target.

More from Who Dat Dish

For being the No. 3 wide receiver on arguably the best NFC team, three targets in two weeks is dismal, to say the least. However, the New Orleans Saints failed to trade for another wide receiver and did not even put in a waiver claim for FA Josh Gordon.

They must see something in either Smith or Kirkwood causing them not to pull the trigger.

This could be the week Tre’Quan Smith finds his grove. Currently, the Carolina Panthers are 5th worst in the NFL in points given up to wide receivers in fantasy football. The secondary for Carolina has been struggling as of late too. They allowed the Falcons to throw for 314 yards.

Out of those 314 yards, Atlanta’s No. 2 receiver caught eight balls for 143 yards and a touchdown. Julio Jones was getting shadowed by James Bradberry allowing for Calvin Ridley to get open. Expect the same from the Saints on Sunday.

This was around the time last season where Smith had the best performance of his career as well.
