Michael Thomas vs Desmond Trufant

Michael Thomas has been the best receiver in the NFL through the first half of the season. While he isn’t actually gaining much respect in the MVP race, he’s certainly the MVP of the New Orleans Saints.

More from Who Dat Dish

And, he’ll have a chance to prove that yet again as he’ll take on Desmond Trufant or whichever Falcons cornerback is up for the challenge.

Thomas has a league-high 73 receptions and is on pace to break the league’s all-time single-season receptions mark. He also has a league-high 875 yards.

Overall, he’s just been an absolute animal, and as we’ve seen, it doesn’t matter who is starting for the former Buckeye to find the holes in the secondary. That said, he’ll have Brees back, AND they’ll be taking on a rather weak Falcons’ secondary.

At 379.5 yards per game, the Falcons are giving up the nine-most yards per game. In the air, they rank No. 22. This is not going to be a pretty game for Atlanta’s secondary, but the Saints’ elite secondary will have their hands full as well.
