Arizona

The Cardinals were on a run coming into this game against the Saints.

With a rookie coach and rookie QB, the outlook was for a tough season in Arizona. But when they opened the season with a tie against the Lions, people noticed they may be a bit ahead of the curve. They’d won three consecutive games coming into New Orleans.

But this wasn’t just any game. This game marked the return of Drew Brees to the starting lineup. The Saints have been tough to beat without Brees. With Brees, that now becomes even more difficult.

The Saints controlled the game and the clock against the Cardinals, holding the ball for just under 38 minutes.

Defensively, once again they were simply stellar. They held Arizona to only three field goals and under 250 total yards. Offensively, the Saints took a quarter to get rolling but once they started, they weren’t stopped.

The second half of the game was basically all Saints. Murray again was over 150 yards in total offense in Kamara’s absence. Brees was typically outstanding as well.
